Family

He was born at Perunna, Changanacherry, Kottayam Dist. on 15th January, 1952. His father is late R. Narayana Panicker, Rtd. Headmaster, Muhammedan UPS, Changanacherry and mother is K.G. Kamalakshy Amma, Rtd. Teacher, Perunna West UPS., Changanacherry.

At present he lives at Maruthankuzhi, Thiruvananthapuram. His family consists of his wife K.G. Syamalakumari, two daughters – Anu Rajan (married to G. Maheshkumar, Mundanthanathu, Othara, Chengannur) and Lekshmi Rajan (married to O.S. Jayaprakash, Jaya Nivas, Vazhuvadi, Mavelikkara), and grand children Anagha Mahesh and Indraneil Prakash.

Education

Dr. Rajan Perunna passed SSLC in 1964 at the age of 12 years from NSS High School, Perunna. He took his graduation in Mathematics in 1970 from NSS Hindu College, Changanacherry. He holds his post-graduation in Malayalam from the University of Kerala (by private study) securing fourth Rank. In 1989, Kerala University awarded Ph.D. for his treatise titled“ Pessimism, Negation and Revolt: Three phases of Romanticism – A study based on Modern Malayalam Poetry” under the guidance of Dr. K. Ramachandran Nair. He also holds post-graduate Diploma in Journalism, and Diploma in Public Relations & Advertising. He has completed his post-graduation in Applied Psychology from Annamalai University.

Employment

Initially he was employed with Sree Narayana College, Kannur for a short span of two years at the age of 20. Later he joined Travancore Titanium Products Ltd., Thiruvananthapuram, a Government of Kerala PSU in 1974. After 31 years of meritorious service with TTP, when he opted for voluntary retirement in 2005, he was Training Officer and Pvt Secretary to Managing Director. Later he joined Sabelog, a leading HR Consultancy firm in Thiruvananthapuram as Chief Co-ordinator. And also worked as Operations Manager of Animaster animation academy.
